Space Fleet Expansion
Overview
Space Fleet Expansion is a progression item that increases the number of space combat ships
Icarus can operate. It is tied to the
The effect changes by level:
- Initial state: 4 fleet slots, 1 fleet, 4 total slots, available when Corvette is unlocked
- Level 1: fleet slots increase by 4, for a total of 8
- Level 2: fleet slots increase by 4, for a total of 12
- Level 3: fleet count increases by 1, for a total of 2 fleets and 24 total slots
- Level 4: fleet count increases by 1, for a total of 3 fleets and 36 total slots
- Level 5: fleet count increases by 1, for a total of 4 fleets and 48 total slots
- Level 6: fleet count increases by 2, for a total of 6 fleets and 72 total slots
- Level 7: fleet count increases by 2, for a total of 8 fleets and 96 total slots
Because the upgrade alternates between expanding a fleet’s internal slot count and increasing the number of fleets, its value depends on how you want to organize your space forces. Early levels are best for making one fleet stronger, while later levels scale overall capacity more aggressively by letting Icarus command more fleets at once.
In practice, this means Space Fleet Expansion is one of the core enablers of larger space combat deployments. If you are trying to field a single concentrated strike force, the early slot-increase levels are especially useful. If you are building a broader multi-fleet setup, the later levels provide the larger jump in total capacity.
