Overview

Spirit Shelter is an ethereal, tree-formed sanctuary that appears in Limveld when the Night threatens the Lands Between. The structure manifests as a spiraling, ghostly-white trunk that branches into two enormous hands whose wooden fingers extend into a broad canopy. It begins comparatively small on the first night and grows as the Expedition progresses, reaching its full size by the end of the second night and enveloping a Divine Tower without an obvious external entrance. The gate set into the petrified trunk is reminiscent of the entrance to the Erdtree at the Elden Throne, though the Nightlord's arena beyond it is a sea of ash rather than the Stone Platform.

The tower interior closely resembles other Divine Towers but is uniformly bleached white and ringed by roots descending from the ceiling. The upper area contains a bridge leading outside; the bridge is structurally similar to those on other Divine Towers but its pedestals lack statues and the sky beyond is a chaotic purple. The interior houses a pool of blue water, a Site of Grace, a Smithing Table, and a petrified Merchant. After the defeat of the boss encountered in the second night, a large jelly- or sap-like mass appears within the Ring of Reign; interacting with this substance transports Nightfarers into the tower, where they walk the bridge to the great door and can open the petrified trunk to gain audience with the Nightlord.

The tree’s reaching hands recall the Spiraltree and the Spiral incantation sigil, linking the Shelter’s visual language to other astral or spiral motifs found across the Nightreign. The location appears across official imagery and gallery assets depicting the Spirit Shelter and the revenant often encountered within it.

  • The Spirit Shelter grows over the course of the Expedition: small on night one, fully grown by the end of night two.
  • Inside the tower: Site of Grace, Smithing Table, petrified Merchant, and a pool of blue water; a bridge leads to the gate embedded in the trunk.
  • Access sequence: defeating the boss of the second night spawns a jelly-like mass in the Ring of Reign; interacting with it transports players into the tower to reach the great door.
  • The gate’s design evokes the Elden Throne Erdtree entrance, but the Nightlord’s arena beyond is a sea of ash rather than a stone platform.
  • Visual cues: spiral trunk and outreaching hands echo Spiraltree iconography and Spiral incantation sigils.
