Overview

The Shrouded Roundtable Hold is the Nightreign counterpart to a familiar hub area: a sheltered keep that serves as the headquarters of the Nightfarers and the staging point for expeditions into Limveld. The Hold centers on the Table of Lost Grace, from which the player initiates runs into Limveld by sending their selected Nightfarer out on an expedition. The Hold functions as a base of operations, social hub, and progression node—housing services for character swapping, Relic management, quest advancement, appearance customization, and access to multiplayer-related features.

The main chamber contains the central roundtable where expeditions are started. On the west side of this hall is an altar used to perform Relic Rites, and on the east side a bell lets the player change which Nightfarer they control. Four doorways lead out of the central hall: north, south, southwest, and southeast. The northern exit opens to a ruined throne room that has broken walls to the north and east; the northern cliff outside this room is the location where Spirit Hawks deliver Nightfarers to begin an expedition into Limveld.

The southwest passage leads to the study. The study contains the Visual Codex, which stores tutorials, tips, equipment details, and records of the most recent 100 expeditions. At the far end of the study sits the Small Jar Bazaar, a vendor where the player trades Murk for items. A staircase beside the bazaar descends toward the main entrance hall and continues underground; the deeper underground section is normally locked and only becomes accessible when a Remembrance Quest requires it. When The Forsaken Hollows is active, the Small Jar Bazaar shifts aside to reveal a chapel with a side door to a balcony on the Hold’s west face. Further west of the study is a ruined dining hall that opens to a garden; the Executor’s painting easel stands in that garden.

The southeast passage leads to the east hall where the Journal is kept; filling journal entries with memory fragments advances Remembrance Quests. South of the east hall is an empty bedroom that serves as a place to rest and cancel active Shifting Earth events. Beyond the east hall is a storage room that becomes a dresser once the player has defeated at least two different Nightlords and unlocked Garbs; the dresser allows the player to change a Nightfarer’s appearance using unlocked Garbs. The northeast corner of the Hold contains the Sparring Grounds, reachable either via the ruined throne room or from the dresser room. The Sparring Grounds provide a Sparring Equipment chest and a signboard for freely changing equipment and levels to test builds and Relics.

The southern doorway opens onto a balcony above the entrance hall; jumping down leads to the half-buried entrance hall where the player may view other players’ victory records. If another player triumphs while using equipment scavenged from the player’s own expedition, that victory record appears brighter and yields 1000 Murk when inspected. Outside the main entrance lies the shore; hugging the wall to the right leads to the Collector Signboard, which appears only after the player has defeated an Everdark Sovereign and which accepts Sovereign Sigils for its services.

Residents and interactive NPCs of the Hold include the Priestess, the Small Jar Bazaar vendor, Iron Menial, the other Nightfarers who appear as NPCs when not chosen for play, and the Collector Signboard (when unlocked). The Hold’s soundtrack echoes a motif from the Firelink Shrine theme from Dark Souls; the musical arrangement uses similar string and high-register piano/harp lines that recall that earlier theme.

Practical notes and interactions:

  • Use the central table to launch expeditions and the altar to perform Relic Rites before departing.
  • Change your active Nightfarer at the bell to switch control without leaving the Hold.
  • Consult the Visual Codex in the study to review tutorials, equipment stats, and the last 100 expedition records.
  • Trade Murk at the Small Jar Bazaar; its position can shift to reveal a chapel during The Forsaken Hollows.
  • Unlocking Garbs and defeating Nightlords repurposes the storage room into a dresser for cosmetic changes.
  • The Sparring Grounds let you freely modify equipment and levels to test builds and Relic effects safely.
  • Inspect other players’ victor records in the entrance hall to earn 1000 Murk if your equipment appears on a successful record.
  • The Collector Signboard becomes available after defeating an Everdark Sovereign and is located along the shore outside the Hold.
