Critter Condo

The Critter Condo is a ranching comfort building used by adult, non-flying, non-aquatic critters in a Stable. When a critter has access to one and is not already Cozy, it will periodically visit the condo, relax, and gain the Cozy buff, which grants +1 happiness for 1 cycle.

This makes the Critter Condo useful for maintaining ranch output without constant dupe grooming. A tame, ungroomed critter with Cozy has a total happiness of 0, so it uses its normal reproduction and metabolism rates. In practice, that lets ranches keep critters productive while reducing or eliminating duplicant labor spent on grooming, unless extra eggs are still desired. Wild critters also use the Critter Condo, but doing so does not affect their reproduction speed or metabolism.

Different critters spend different amounts of time using the Critter Condo before leaving. Reported values are:

• Hatch: 26 s
• Drecko: 13 s
• Slickster: 13.5 s
• Pip: 19 s
• Shove Vole: 25 s
• Plug Slug: 18.2 s
• Pacu: 17 s
• Pokeshell: 25 s

Because the condo only affects critters that can reach and use it, it is most effective in enclosed Stable setups where the desired species can path to the building. It does not change the behavior of flying or aquatic critters, so those species do not benefit from it in the same way.
