Conductive Wire

Overview

Conductive Wire is an improved power wire used to transmit electricity more cleanly than regular Wire, and duplicants prefer its appearance over the ragged look of standard wiring. It functions like other power cables, but it is intended for higher-capacity or more refined power grids where the player wants to reduce clutter and route power through finished areas more neatly.

Like Wire, Conductive Wire can be buried inside wall and floor tiles, letting it pass through enclosed spaces without exposing the cable to the room. This makes it especially useful for planned bases, since power can be routed behind finished walls and floors rather than left across open rooms. If you need to run a Conductive Wire across another wire line without joining the circuits, you must use a Conductive Wire Bridge; without a bridge, crossing lines will connect normally.

In practice, Conductive Wire is most valuable when designing a base that needs both organization and flexibility. It is a convenient choice for power distribution through developed living areas, industrial halls, and other places where exposed wiring would be unsightly or awkward to work around. Because it can be hidden in tiles, it pairs well with permanent construction and carefully layered infrastructure.

  • Can be embedded in wall and floor tiles.
  • Requires a Conductive Wire Bridge to cross other wires without connecting to them.
  • Duplicants prefer its appearance to that of regular Wire.
  • Useful for tidy, permanent power layouts in constructed bases.
