Solid Oxidizer Tank

The Solid Oxidizer Tank is a rocket building used to supply oxidizer so rocket fuel can be burned efficiently in the vacuum of space. It is part of the rocket fuel chain rather than a general base facility, and its purpose is to let a rocket operate without atmospheric oxygen by carrying a solid oxidizer for use during flight.

In practice, the tank is filled with oxylite, which serves as the solid oxidizer for rocket operation. It does not accept Solid Oxygen, so it cannot be used as a substitute fill material. Once loaded, it provides the oxidizer needed for the rocket’s engine to burn fuel while in space, making it an essential support building for space travel setups that rely on solid oxidizer rather than gas-based systems.

A few practical points are worth keeping in mind:

• The tank requires oxylite delivery from duplicants.
• Duplicants may sometimes fail to deliver oxylite to the Solid Oxidizer Tank.
• If that happens, restarting the game is a reported fix.
• Solid Oxygen cannot be loaded into the tank.

Because its role is tied directly to rocket operation, the tank is most useful when planning for long-range launches or repeated space missions where fuel efficiency matters. Its main value is that it allows fuel to be burned in the vacuum of space, where ordinary combustion support is unavailable.
