Tasteful Memorial

Overview

Tasteful Memorial is a burial structure used to honor dead Duplicants. When a Duplicant dies, burying the body reduces health hazards and colony stress, helping prevent the problems that can follow an unburied corpse. It is primarily a morale and sanitation measure rather than a direct recovery or revival tool.

A buried Duplicant’s memorial can be personalized with an epitaph. Available epitaphs include phrases such as “Gone, but not forgotten,” “May they know peace,” and “Where one adventure ends, another begins.” These inscriptions are purely cosmetic, but they let the memorial serve as a small commemorative marker for the dead.

  • Burying a dead Duplicant does not remove the Mourning effect.
  • Once filled, a memorial can be deconstructed if needed, but the body will not be recovered.
  • Since burial lowers colony stress and health risks, it is worth handling dead Duplicants promptly rather than leaving remains exposed.
