Rover's Doghouse

Rover's Doghouse is the surface deployment building used to send a Rover down from a rocket in orbit. When a rocket carrying a Rover's Module reaches an asteroid's orbit, the Rover can be launched to the surface through the Doghouse, letting it begin working away from the rocket crew.

Once deployed, the Rover operates on its built-in disposable battery, which holds 180 kJ and lasts for 10 cycles before running out. When the Rover is no longer needed, Duplicants can deconstruct it after it shuts down. The Rover's Doghouse itself can also be dismantled by the Rover, returning 400 kg of the same metal ore used to build it.

Because it is a one-way deployment tool, Rover's Doghouse is mainly useful for short-term, self-contained operations on a newly reached asteroid. It allows a rocket-borne Rover to be placed directly on the surface, work for a limited time, and then be recovered or recycled once its battery is exhausted.
