Sucrose

Sucrose is a refined food resource used in several mid- to late-game production chains. It is most notably an ingredient for making Grubfruit Preserve on the Electric Grill, and it can also be processed into Rocketeer Spice in the Spice Grinder. Beyond cooking, it serves as fuel for Sugar Engines, making it useful as both a food ingredient and an industrial resource.

In creature interactions, Sweetles produce Sucrose when fed Sulfur, doing so at 50% efficiency. Sucrose is also consumed by Grubgrubs, which convert it into Mud at 100% efficiency, returning the same mass of Mud as the Sucrose they eat. This makes it a practical input when you want to keep a Grubgrub fed while generating Mud for other uses.
