Overview

Cherry Tree is a fruit tree that can be grown by planting a cherry in the ground. It can be planted in any biome or soil type, and a correctly planted fruit will sprout into a small tree. Cherries are available in-game during December in real life, and a lucky player may also receive one from a Gacha Machine.

A cherry tree takes 12 days to mature and then produces fruit every 6 days. Each harvest yields 4 cherries. The Plant Book can be used on the tree to check its maturity and fruit regrowth cycle. Fruit can be picked by hand or with the Har-Vac.

Cherry trees can be moved with the Tree Pinchers or removed with an axe or chainsaw. Cutting one down does not produce wood; it only drops fruit if the tree was ripe when it was cut.

Planting a cherry to grow a new tree can be done in several ways:

  • Dig a hole with the shovel, drop the fruit into it, and cover it back up with dirt.
  • Drop the fruit on the ground, remove the soil from underneath it with the shovel, then place the soil back over it.
  • Drop the fruit on the ground and use a Dirt Printer over it.

For orchards, many players use 2-wide rows with a 1-tile walkway between rows, which is useful when mixing different ground types under the trees. In Autumn, different mushrooms can grow beneath trees depending on whether the ground is grass, fir, tropical, dirt, or mud. Another efficient layout is to plant each tree on adjacent tiles so dropped fruit can land outside the end of the row, making it easier to collect with the Har-Vac or by running along the outer edge.

In Australia, cherries are bush tucker, and the fruit can be red or blue.
