Dirt Printer
Overview
The Dirt Printer is a power tool that creates a targeted tile of dirt, sand, mud, or rough soil. It works in the opposite way of the Compactor and does not require a sample of the block type it is printing. Once commissioned at Crafting Lab Deed after donating to Franklyn, it arrives in the mailbox the following morning.
To use it, equip the Dirt Printer in an open toolbelt slot and activate it with the use button. It only works when the player is standing on ground that is higher than the tile being created. When used, it adds a layer of soil to the chosen square, up to one block higher than the level the player is standing on. The player can be at any height and the tool will still print from the lowest block in the target area.
The Dirt Printer is limited by durability and will produce a total of 100 tiles before it breaks if its power runs out. Unlike disposable tools, it can be recharged at the Charging Station. One point of durability takes 600 seconds to recharge.
- It can print dirt, sand, mud, and rough soil.
- It does not need a matching material sample to function.
- It is especially useful for terrain shaping, filling gaps, and restoring natural-looking ground.
- If it runs out of power completely, it breaks and disappears, so recharging before depletion is important.
