Meteorite

Overview
A Meteorite is a rare, heavy item that can fall during a Meteor Shower. When the Weather Station shows the meteor shower symbol, or when stars are falling at night, a single meteorite may appear at a random hour between sunset/night and 11:00 pm. Its spawn time varies by season: Summer from 9:00 pm to 11:00 pm, Autumn from 7:00 pm to 11:00 pm, Winter from 6:00 pm to 11:00 pm, and Spring from 8:00 pm to 11:00 pm. Meteorites can appear in any season, but they are more common in Autumn and Winter, and also when using the Fortuitous Wish at the Wish Fountain Deed.
During a meteor shower, one of the falling star trails is brighter, thicker, and slower than the others. It also makes a sound while traveling and on impact. Following that trail will lead to the meteorite, which lands in a burst of surface fireworks. NPCs looking up at the sky is another sign that the shower has begun.
Once it lands, the meteorite must be picked up while it is still glowing. If it is left on the ground, it will not stay permanently and will disappear when the player sleeps or exits the game. On the Island Reef, the meteorite still falls there. In the Mines, it will not fall unless the player has returned to the island before the hour it is due to appear, so returning from mine levels before sunset is the safest approach.
A meteorite can be broken with a weapon. Its drops include Berkonium Ore, Meteorite Chunk, and rare items such as Galaxy Glider and Galaxy Hood.
- It is a large item and can be carried overhead or placed on a vehicle for transport.
- It can pass through a Tele Tower or Tele Pad while being carried.
- It can be taken to John’s Goods and weighed on the scale; John offers a sale price based on its weight.
- It can also be displayed as decoration.
- Players may keep it for NPC photo requests, or take photos of it with a Camera or Camera Tripod before selling it.
Because it is both a collectible and a source of rare drops, the meteorite is often worth keeping until the player has decided whether to open it, sell it, or use it for photos and display.
