Weather Station

Spins around and predicts the weather somehow.
Overview
The Weather Station is a commissioned item that lets the player check the current weather and tomorrow’s forecast. It can be ordered at Franklyn’s Lab, including when Franklyn is visiting the Visitors Site tent, and it arrives in the mailbox the next morning once commissioned.
Reading the Weather Station shows today’s weather and tomorrow’s forecast, including both the weather icon and the wind icon. It is useful for planning farming, fishing, travel, and weather-dependent events because Dinkum’s weather shifts at 7am, 12pm, and 6pm each day, regardless of season. The Weather Station is part of the game’s dynamic weather system, which includes Sunny, Cloudy, Breeze, Wind, Fog, Rain, Storm, Heat Wave, Meteor Shower, and Snow.
A few related objects and items can also help predict or influence the weather:
- The Glowing Box and Glowing Slab display the weather at 9am and 6pm, and their readings match the in-game weather.
- A Cup of Sunshine makes the day sunny immediately.
- A Bottle of Clouds makes the next day rainy or snowy. In Winter, it can cause snow instead of rain.
- A Blistering Bottle causes a heat wave on the next morning or day.
- The Fortuitous Wish at the Wish Fountain Deed increases the chance of a meteor shower at night.
- The Orb of Stars causes a meteorite to appear the next night.
Weather has direct gameplay effects. Rain and snow water crops, reducing the need for manual watering, and rainy or snowy mornings can allow Jimmy to appear for the day. Rain also improves fishing conditions and can spawn toads. Snow can create a snow day if it falls in the morning during Winter, while snowfall later in the day does not produce snow on the ground. Heat waves can unlock valuable digging finds, and meteor showers can bring down a meteorite during the night.
Because of this, the Weather Station is especially useful for timing crop work, resource runs, and rare weather events.
