Old Gear

Old Gear is a salvage item used in various crafting and town-related requirements. It is a common piece of scrap machinery, and players usually obtain it while exploring, scavenging, or shopping rather than by making it themselves.

Old Gear can be found by breaking Old Barrels, digging up Car Relics in the Deep Mine, or uncovering treasure while Metal Detecting. It is also sold at John’s Goods, making it one of the easier materials to stockpile if you need a few on short notice.

It appears in multiple recipe and request tables, so it is worth keeping in storage instead of selling every piece immediately. In particular, it is required for some of Fletch’s deed material lists, which means it can be needed for settlement progression as well as for ordinary item use.
