Overview

Stone is a basic mining resource obtained by breaking rocks on the Island and the rock walls found in the Deep Mine. It is one of the most common early-game materials, and it feeds into a wide range of crafting and town development uses.

In practice, Stone functions as a general-purpose construction and manufacturing ingredient. The usage data shows it appears in many recipes with very small, simple input combinations as well as in larger bulk requirements, which makes it a material worth collecting whenever you are clearing terrain or working underground. Because it comes from ordinary rocks rather than a rare node, it is usually easiest to stockpile Stone passively while exploring and mining.

Stone is also used as a building-material requirement for some of Fletch’s Deeds after the relevant structure has been placed. Those deed requirements vary, but the presence of Stone in them means it can be a bottleneck if you spend all of it on crafting without keeping some in reserve for town upgrades.

  • Break surface rocks whenever possible, since they are the simplest source of Stone.
  • Mine Deed rock walls in the Deep Mine to gather additional Stone while progressing underground.
  • Keep a reserve for deed requirements, since some town projects consume Stone alongside other building materials.
  • Since Stone appears in many recipes, it is worth storing rather than selling off immediately.

Because it is so broadly used, Stone is best treated as a core resource rather than a disposable by-product. A steady supply will make early crafting smoother and will also help avoid delays when a deed suddenly calls for construction materials.
