Tractor

The Tractor is an agricultural vehicle that can be commissioned from Franklyn’s Lab after unlocking the Agriculture Vehicle Licence. It is one of the main late-game farming tools, combining crop harvesting, soil tilling, and planting/fertilizing into a single vehicle. Once commissioned, it arrives in the mailbox the next morning.

To unlock and use it fully, the player must purchase all three levels of the Agriculture Vehicle Licence. Level 1 allows the player to buy agricultural vehicles and use the Harvesting Attachment, Level 2 unlocks the Ploughing Attachment, and Level 3 unlocks the Planting Attachment. The vehicle can also be customised with Paint.

The Tractor’s hitbox is only one tile wide, so it can pass through narrow spaces such as gates and can fit between rows of staked crops. Its front attachment area is three tiles wide, covering a 3x1 area directly in front of the vehicle. This makes it especially effective for working large fields while still navigating tight farm layouts.

It has three modes, indicated by the three lights on top of the vehicle, which activate from left to right. Right-clicking switches between modes.

• Harvesting mode: Automatically harvests crops as the tractor drives forward, sending them directly to the player’s inventory. It also removes dead crops after the season changes.
• Ploughing mode: Replaces the Hoe for tilling unpaved dirt while driving forward.
• Fertilizing/Planting mode: Places fertilizer on tilled soil if fertilizer is selected in the toolbar, or plants the selected crop seed if a seed is highlighted.

A few practical notes make the Tractor easier to use efficiently. Although it cannot drive through tomato and green bean crop sticks when they block its path, it can still harvest those crops if they are planted with a gap between the sticks. Fallen crops must still be collected by hand. The Tractor does not harvest Wattle Brush or Bottle Brush.
