Tesla Tower

Overview
Tesla Tower is the most basic power transmission building available from the earliest stage of the game. It is cheap, dependable, and simple to use, making it the standard choice for building out a power grid before more advanced transmission options are unlocked.
Its main limitation is range: among the transmission towers, Tesla Tower has the shortest connection distance. However, it compensates with a relatively wide power distribution area, second only to the
Tesla Tower is especially useful in compact layouts because of its small footprint. It can often be placed in the gaps between buildings, which makes it easier to thread power through crowded production areas without redesigning the whole factory.
A few practical points stand out:
- In the early game, it is possible to use very few Tesla Towers by powering buildings directly with Wind Turbines and linking grids through them.
- Wind Turbines can serve as an inexpensive way to connect small setups into a single power network, but they become awkward to place in larger, denser factories.
Wireless Power Tower can connect over a longer distance than Tesla Tower, and Satellite Substation can supply power to a larger area, but both consume power themselves.
- Although Wireless Power Tower has the greater connection distance, its much higher resource cost and idle energy use mean that, in most situations, building more Tesla Towers is cheaper in both materials and energy than relying on fewer Wireless Power Towers.
For that reason, Tesla Tower remains the default choice for most ordinary factory expansion: use it for short and medium connections, fill in local coverage, and reserve Wireless Power Tower or Satellite Substation for cases where their special advantages are worth the extra cost.
