Overview

A Full Accumulator is the charged form of an Accumulator. It is produced by placing an Accumulator into an Energy Exchanger in Charge mode, and it is converted back into an empty Accumulator when placed into an Energy Exchanger set to Discharge mode. This makes it a portable battery for moving power between planets, especially when a grid cannot directly share surplus energy across interstellar logistics.

Full Accumulators can also be obtained manually by placing Accumulators on the ground and picking them up after they have fully charged. This method is less convenient than using an Energy Exchanger, but it is useful when you need to carry charged accumulators to a new planet or when an Energy Exchanger is not yet available. They can be used as fuel for the Mecha, and when an Accumulator is consumed this way, the empty Accumulator is returned to the inventory.

  • A Full Accumulator can be placed directly from the inventory even though it does not appear in the building tab.
  • When used in an Energy Exchanger on the discharge side, it becomes an empty Accumulator again.
  • Full Accumulators are one of the main ways to transport stored electrical power between planets.
  • Placed Accumulators lose all proliferation bonuses, so charging them on the ground removes any such benefit before pickup.

In practice, Full Accumulators are most valuable once a player has established an Energy Exchanger network. Charging them on one world and discharging them on another allows a simple, reliable transfer of electricity without needing to move fuels or build duplicate generation on every planet. Before that point, they still serve as a compact, reusable energy reserve and an emergency power source for Mecha travel and remote construction.
