Overview

Microcrystalline Component is a mid-tier crafted component used primarily as an ingredient for Processors, and also as a material for a few other advanced buildings such as the Spray Coater and Battlefield Analysis Base. It is one of the main uses for processed silicon ore and high-purity silicon, and it sits at the center of the game’s electronics production chain.

Its purpose is tied closely to Processor production: Microcrystalline Component forms the base material that enables Processors to provide high-speed computing functions. The item is made by carving and processing city-like three-dimensional nanostructures on high-purity silicon wafers, which makes its crafting process relatively advanced compared with basic components. Because its recipe is slow and consumes a fairly large amount of processed Silicon Ore, it is often more practical to produce it away from the starting planet, where silicon resources and industrial scaling are easier to secure.

In normal progression, Microcrystalline Component does not need to be mass-produced for many different products. Its main consumers are limited, and most of its demand comes from downstream electronics and a few specialized structures.

  • Only Processors, Spray Coaters, and Battlefield Analysis Bases require it.
  • For Processors, the production ratio is 4 Microcrystalline Component to 3 Processors.
  • For Spray Coaters, the ratio is also 4:3.
  • For Battlefield Analysis Bases, the ratio is 2:1.

Early in the game, manual production is usually enough for small quantities. A modest supply can cover early Battlefield Analysis Base and Spray Coater needs without building a dedicated automated line right away. Since its other major use is Processor production, many players treat Microcrystalline Component as a supporting material for the broader electronics chain rather than as a standalone industrial product.

From a logistics perspective, the item is best handled as part of a silicon-focused manufacturing network. Because it depends on processed silicon and is best suited to large-scale production later on, placing its production near silicon ore deposits or on a planet specialized for advanced materials helps avoid bottlenecks. Once Processors become a major factory priority, a stable Microcrystalline Component line becomes essential, since Processor throughput is directly limited by its supply.
