Distribution Range

Overview

Distribution range is a technology that expands the delivery range of Logistics bot. When Logistics distributor is unlocked, bot delivery is limited to 40°, and this technology increases that range step by step.

The increase is significant for improving the reach of logistic networks, but it also has an important side effect: if Distribution range is raised too far while Logistics Carrier Engine remains low, delivery time becomes longer. The most extreme case is Logistics carrier engine Lv0 with Distribution range Lv5, where a one-way trip can take up to 1 minute 45 seconds.

The technology’s total range increases as follows:

  • Initial: 40° (about 140 m)
  • Lv1: +20°, for a total of 60° (about 209 m)
  • Lv2: +20°, for a total of 80° (about 279 m)
  • Lv3: +30°, for a total of 110° (about 384 m)
  • Lv4: +30°, for a total of 140° (about 489 m)
  • Lv5: +40°, for a total of 180° (about 628 m)

In practice, Distribution range is most useful when you want Logistics bot coverage to span a larger portion of an area without building additional logistics infrastructure. However, because longer range increases travel distance, it should be developed alongside Logistics carrier engine rather than in isolation. Keeping the engine level too low can make long-range bot delivery feel sluggish, even though the nominal coverage is much larger.

For that reason, a balanced logistics research path is preferable: expand the range when you need wider coverage, but also improve bot speed so that the expanded area remains efficient.
