Conveyor Receptacle
Overview
A Conveyor Receptacle stores items delivered by a Conveyor Rail at the end of the line so that Duplicants can retrieve and use them. It is a simple endpoint for rail networks: once materials reach the end of the rail, they are deposited into the receptacle instead of dropping loose on the floor.
Its storage is very limited, holding only about 5 tiles of Conveyor Rail worth of material, so it can back up quickly if it is not emptied regularly. Because of this, it is usually best used together with an Auto-Sweeper and nearby Storage Bins to keep the output flowing and prevent jams at the end of the rail.
- Check Allow Manual Use if you want Duplicants to take items from the receptacle themselves.
- Both Duplicants and Auto-Sweepers must be able to reach the bottom tile of the Conveyor Receptacle to access its contents.
- Since it fills so quickly, it works best as a short-term buffer rather than as long-term storage.
- Placing it near the rest of your handling infrastructure reduces hauling time and helps keep rail networks running smoothly.
