Overview

Enriched Uranium is an industrial material used in advanced nuclear production chains. Its main function is to feed the Research Reactor, where it is consumed to generate hot steam. This makes it part of the infrastructure for high-end power and steam-based systems rather than a general-purpose resource.

It also has a secondary use in the Blastshot Maker, where it can be turned into Nuclear Warheads. That gives the element a direct role in weapon production as well as reactor operation. Because of these two applications, Enriched Uranium is most valuable in colonies that have already reached late-game nuclear industry and are managing both power generation and military output.

In practical terms, Enriched Uranium is a specialized input rather than a material to stockpile for everyday construction. If a colony is running a Research Reactor, keeping a steady supply on hand is important so the reactor can continue producing hot steam without interruption. If the colony is using the Blastshot Maker, the same material also needs to be reserved for warhead production, so reactor fuel planning and ammunition planning compete for the same resource.
