Manual Radbolt Generator

Overview

The Manual Radbolt Generator is a radiation building that converts uranium into Radbolts, which are required for Materials Science research. It is a manually operated source of radiation output rather than an automated one, so a Duplicant must perform an operation task to fire it. When the progress bar completes, it immediately emits Radbolts in the selected direction.

It can be aimed like the Radbolt Generator, but it cannot be controlled by signals. Like most radiation-related buildings, it has no overheat temperature, though it can still melt. The firing task is affected by the Duplicant’s Machinery attribute, so faster operators produce Radbolts more quickly.

Its recipes are straightforward:

A useful detail is that refining Uranium Ore in a Uranium Centrifuge does not increase the number of Radbolts produced per kilogram of Uranium Ore. It does, however, reduce the mass loss from 50% to 4%, at the cost of extra power and processing time. In practice, 100 kg of Uranium Ore can be turned directly into 500 Radbolts plus 50 kg of Depleted Uranium, or refined first into 20 kg Enriched Uranium and 80 kg Depleted Uranium, then converted into the same 500 Radbolts plus 16 kg more Depleted Uranium, for a total of 96 kg of Depleted Uranium.
