Blackbug

This tiny bug appears in many different places. Right now it's looking for a new home.
Overview
Blackbug is a creature that appears throughout the world of Core Keeper rather than being tied to a single biome. It can be encountered on ground tiles in any biome, making it one of the more widespread ambient creatures in the game.
In addition to natural spawning, Blackbugs can also appear when certain wooden objects are broken. This includes Wood, Coral Wood, Gleam Wood, and all other wooden destructibles. Because of that, players will often run into them while clearing debris, harvesting structures, or opening up older explored areas with lots of breakable wood nearby.
For players trying to find Blackbugs, the most reliable approach is to keep an eye on open ground in any biome and to break wooden destructibles as they are encountered. Since they can come from multiple wood types, they are not limited to a single surface or environment theme. This also means that areas with lots of wooden clutter can produce them unexpectedly during routine exploration or base cleanup.
- Blackbugs spawn on ground tiles in all biomes.
- They can also be found by breaking Wood, Coral Wood, Gleam Wood, and all types of wooden destructibles.
- Because they are not biome-locked, they may appear in many different parts of a save as the player expands outward.
- Clearing wooden objects is a practical way to trigger additional spawns while progressing through the world.
Blackbug’s broad spawn range makes it a common part of the game’s ambient creature population. Rather than seeking out a specific region, players are more likely to encounter it naturally while moving through the map or interacting with wooden structures and debris.
