Acid Larva

Overview
Acid Larva are hostile creatures found in Larva Hives. They appear only during the initial generation of a Larva Hive and do not respawn afterward, so each hive has a fixed population of them.
They are notable for their explosive behavior. If an Acid Larva is allowed to explode, it does not drop any loot, so it must be killed by a player to obtain its drops. In practice, this makes them a one-time combat obstacle rather than an enemy that can be farmed repeatedly inside the same hive.
Because they are part of the hive’s original spawn, dealing with them early is the safest approach when exploring newly generated Larva Hives. Clearing them before they can detonate prevents the loss of any rewards tied to the kill. This also means that once a hive has been fully cleared of its Acid Larva, the area stays free of that particular threat on later visits.
- Acid Larva spawn only during the first generation of a Larva Hive.
- They do not respawn.
- They do not drop loot if they explode.
- They must be killed directly by a player to receive rewards.
