Sky Fest

Overview
Sky Fest is a seasonal event held at the Band Stand on 8th Autumn. The day is divided into three timed parts at 11am, 3pm, and 8pm, and NPC dialogue changes throughout the day to match the active event. During Sky Fest, the weather is forced clear in the morning so the day becomes sunny, although Jimmy still spawns if the weather forecast had predicted rain for the event day.
The Band Stand also plays exclusive Sky Fest music within its area of influence, and that music stops when the Aurora begins at 8pm. In multiplayer, players can visit another island for the event as long as they arrive before 11am, which allows them to participate in the kite activities and receive a Kite Kit from Fletch.
At 11am, talking to Fletch grants a Kite Kit, which is used to make a kite at the Kite Making Table in front of the Band Stand. There are three kite types available in all paint colors except silver and gold, and a white kite does not need paint. Fletch suggests using this time to practice flying before the later event. To fly a kite, hold the use button to let out the string and guide it toward where you are looking.
At 3pm, Flying Lanterns begin to fall near the player. Hitting them with a kite awards Sky Fest Prize Tickets, which emit a yellow light similar to a Throwing Disc. These tickets are then exchanged for exclusive Sky Fest prizes from the prize box at the Band Stand. Sky Fest Prize Tickets can be earned from lanterns during the event, and some prize entries have a selling price listed alongside them.
At 8pm, the Aurora becomes visible across the entire island while lanterns continue to fall. Once the time reaches Late, Fletch leaves the prize box area, but the box remains usable. The lanterns disappear at that point, so no more Sky Fest Prize Tickets can be collected.
- Sky Fest Prize Tickets are the currency used for event rewards.
- The prize box at the Band Stand remains accessible even after Fletch walks away.
- Lantern collection ends at Late, so tickets should be gathered before then.
- The event ties together kite building, lantern shooting, prize redemption, and the island-wide Aurora finale.
