Throwing Disc

The Throwing Disc is a tool found in the Cooler in Island Reef. It can be aimed and thrown with the same general style of control used by ranged tools such as the Slingshot, Advanced Sling Shot, and Bone Bow. When used, the camera zooms in to an over-the-shoulder view and a gauge appears to show throw strength, which determines how far the disc travels.

On mouse and keyboard, hold left-click to aim and release to throw, and use right-click to pick it back up. On Xbox controller, it is aimed with the A button. In multiplayer, other players can interact with the disc while it is out in the world. After landing, it creates a pillar of light after a short delay, making it easier to spot and retrieve.

The Throwing Disc is a tool rather than a weapon, so it does not deal damage to animals. It can also be used as a spotlight-style decoration by dropping it with Q on keyboard. Players using a controller should refer to the control scheme for the equivalent drop action.

Available colors include black, blue, green, orange, pink, purple, red, and white.
