Lubrication Station
Overview
Lubrication Station is a liquid input building used to keep machinery and joints from wearing down. Its description reflects its purpose well: a fresh supply of oil keeps old joints from getting too creaky. In practice, it serves as a dedicated storage and delivery point for lubricants, letting a base supply oil where it is needed without relying on loose liquid containers.
The building must be connected to power before it can be used, and it requires at least 200 kg of liquid inside before it becomes operational. Its internal storage capacity is 400 kg. It accepts only two liquids: Crude Oil and Phyto Oil. Supplying any other liquid causes Element Damage, so it should be placed on a dedicated pipe line rather than a general-purpose fluid system.
A Lubrication Station also does not exchange heat with its contents while in a vacuum, which makes it useful in isolated or sealed setups where temperature control matters. That behavior can help preserve the delivered liquid’s temperature when the station is placed in an airless area.
- Best used as a controlled oil reservoir for machines or maintenance-focused systems.
- Keep it on a separate pipe network to avoid accidentally sending the wrong liquid.
- Because it needs a minimum fill level to function, it is not suitable for tiny trickle supplies.
- The station’s 400 kg capacity makes it a modest buffer, enough for local distribution but not a large-scale storage solution.
Overall, Lubrication Station is a simple but specialized utility building: it takes the right oil, stores a limited amount, and helps keep older systems running smoothly without unwanted damage or heat transfer in vacuum environments.
