Mechanics Station
Overview
The Mechanics Station is a workstation that increases the efficiency of buildings in the same room as the station. Its effect is limited by room boundaries: only structures placed within the same room receive the benefit, while buildings in adjacent rooms do not.
Because of that restriction, the station is best used as part of a dedicated maintenance or production room rather than in a shared corridor or utility space. If a room is meant to be boosted by Mechanics Station work, keep the affected buildings inside the room definition and avoid breaking the room with misplaced tiles, doors, or other layout changes.
In practice, the station rewards careful base planning more than raw throughput. A single room can be organized around the buildings that benefit most from improved efficiency, while unrelated machinery is kept elsewhere. This makes it useful for compact industrial setups where maximizing output from a small number of structures matters more than spreading equipment across the base.
- Only buildings in the same room as the Mechanics Station are improved.
- Buildings outside that room receive no benefit, even if they are physically close.
- It is most effective when paired with a deliberately planned room layout.
- Moving or adding structures can change room boundaries and remove the bonus.
