Plant Pulverizer

Plant Pulverizer is a Duplicant-operated building used to process crops into Brackene. It does not require Power, but it does require a Duplicant to operate it, so its output is limited by worker time rather than electricity. Each operation produces 20 kg of Brackene and takes 40 seconds, with the time reduced by the operator’s Machinery attribute.

It is primarily useful early in a colony, when Brackene is needed in small quantities and a full Gassy Moo setup would be excessive. It is also a practical way to convert surplus crops into a useful industrial fluid instead of letting them rot. For colonies that have extra Nosh Bean, Pincha Peppernut, or Sleet Wheat Grain, the Plant Pulverizer lets those excess harvests become a complementary supply of Brackene.

The known recipes are:

• 2 Nosh Bean + 18 kg Water → 20 kg Brackene
• 10 Sleet Wheat Grain + 15 kg Water → 20 kg Brackene
• 3000 g Pincha Peppernut + 17 kg Water → 20 kg Brackene

Because the building uses water as part of every recipe, it is best placed near a steady water supply and crop storage. Its lack of power demand makes it easy to fit into an early base, but its throughput depends entirely on labor, so it is not a high-volume replacement for later Brackene production methods.

The Plant Pulverizer is also the only way to obtain Phyto Oil, where it serves as an early substitute for gear oil. This makes it especially valuable before space exploration or other advanced livestock-based production becomes available. For players who do not want to rely on critter milking, or who are simply unable to maintain a Gassy Moo stable yet, the Plant Pulverizer provides a straightforward route to a small but reliable supply of Brackene and Phyto Oil.
