Super Computer

The Super Computer is a science building used to advance research beyond what Research Stations can unlock on their own. It sits at the top of the early research chain and opens access to higher technology tiers, making it a key milestone in colony progression. As a Science Building, it receives a +10% efficiency bonus when placed inside a Laboratory.

In practice, the Super Computer is defined by its heavy water demand. Researching with it consumes a large amount of water, so it is best to conserve the starting biome’s water supply and limit research to essential technologies until a reliable source is available. Increasing the building’s efficiency makes research points accumulate faster, but it also increases water consumption, which in turn means Duplicants spend more time delivering water to keep it running.

The building can also be used as a source of early heat removal by supplying it with hot water. Since there is no direct way to restrict water delivery by temperature, the usual method is to place Pitcher Pumps only on top of hot water pools so Duplicants draw from that source alone. This can turn research into a useful sink for excess heat while still advancing the tech tree.
