Supply Teleporter Input

Overview

Supply Teleporter Input is the receiving side of a Supply Teleporter system, used to move resources between distant locations, especially between different celestial bodies. It is a ruin-associated building rather than a standard early-game utility, and its visible front is connected to tubes at the back that simply disappear into nowhere.

If the Teleporter option is disabled when starting a new game, the related ruins still generate, but they will not contain a Supply Teleporter Input or Output. The teleporter itself does not require power to operate, but delivering materials into a Gas Pipe, Liquid Pipe, or Conveyor Rail still requires Critter or mechanical assistance.

In practice, Supply Teleporter Input is most useful when multiple resource types must be transferred over long distances, such as water for oxygen production or Petroleum for power generation. Because sharing one transport line for many substances can become awkward, it is often easier to convert a resource into a different state before shipping it, reducing the need to mix different materials in the same pipe or rail. Gas Filter and Liquid Filter can also be used to separate mixed streams when a single transport route must handle more than one resource.

A few practical points:

  • The building is tied to the teleporter ruin set, so its presence depends on world generation settings.
  • Its back-end tubing is purely visual in the scene and does not lead to a usable local network.
  • It is most effective when paired with a carefully planned transport system on both ends, rather than as a general-purpose storage solution.
  • For multi-resource colonies, converting materials between solid, liquid, and gas forms can simplify logistics and avoid congestion in shared transport lines.
