Ironbots

Overview
Ironbots are the faction-specific worker bots used by the
Iron Teeth faction in Timberborn. They are mechanical workers that fulfill jobs normally performed by beavers but follow different rules for needs, working time, and maintenance. Ironbots have a visible durability bar that represents a fixed lifespan of 70 days; when durability reaches zero the bot breaks down and must be replaced.
Ironbots require Energy to operate and must be regularly recharged. They are not affected by regular well-being needs; instead they have their own set of needs called Condition which governs their operational state. Bots are not subject to working hours and therefore perform their assigned duties continuously, 24/7. Each Iron Teeth faction has its own visual style for bots, and the internal mechanisms and tuning of bots differ slightly between factions.
Bots are able to perform almost all the same duties as ordinary beavers. At game start only a selection of workplaces is available for bots; additional work assignments become available through Research. There are a few specific workplace types at which bots cannot be assigned, while all other tasks that normal beavers can do are available to bots. Ironbots were introduced in Update 2 of the game. Before Update 3 they were called Golems and used a different model.
- Ironbots run continuously and ignore standard working hour schedules, making them ideal for high-throughput industrial layouts and around-the-clock logistics.
- Manage Energy and Condition to keep bots productive; they must be recharged to work and are affected by their Condition rather than beaver well-being systems.
- Monitor durability: each bot has a fixed 70-day lifespan tracked by durability. Plan replacements and production to avoid sudden workforce drops.
- Use research to expand the set of workplaces bots can occupy. Early-game bots are limited to select jobs until the appropriate technologies are unlocked.
- Take advantage of faction-specific bot properties and aesthetics when designing compact, high-density settlements, since Iron Teeth bots and infrastructure favor dense, optimized layouts.
- Remember that a few workplace types remain inaccessible to bots; assign beavers to those roles where necessary.
Ironbots are a core part of Iron Teeth playstyles that reward dense planning and automation. Their continuous operation, distinct maintenance model, and limited lifespan make them powerful but management-intensive tools for industrial colonies.
