Wooden Chest

The Wooden Chest is a storage item in Dinkum that is not craftable. It functions like the basic brown wooden crate, but differs only in appearance and offers 24 inventory slots for storing items. It can be placed on the ground both outdoors and inside player or guest houses.

New wooden chests can be found during visits in several areas, and their color depends on where they appear. In the Deep Mine and on Island Reef, they can appear as brown chests; in Undergrove and Island Reef, they can appear as green chests; blue chests are found exclusively on Island Reef on a Sunday; and red chests are found exclusively in Hot Hot Hot. In the Deep Mine, a walled-off treasure area may contain a wooden chest in the center, or a ruby or emerald instead. These chests contain multiple items, and some items can only be obtained from mine chests. Once the chest has been emptied, it can be picked up with the E button.

• The chest comes in multiple color variants: black, blue, brown/default, chrome, green, gold, orange, pink, purple, red, white, and yellow.
• Paint can be used to change its color, and Paint Remover restores its original appearance.
• The Hand Trolley can move chests and other storage containers even when they contain items.
• While in a storage container, the Organize button sorts contents by category and then alphabetically.
