Fish Book
Overview
The Fish Book is a tool that helps identify fish the player has already caught. It can be purchased from the Museum Deed after donating 50% of the collection made up of bugs, fish, and critters. Once obtained, it is placed in the tool bar and used like other handheld tools.
When activated, the Fish Book displays the names and prices of nearby fish that the player has previously caught. This makes it useful for checking the value of fish in the area without opening menus or relying on memory. If a nearby fish has not yet been caught, its information appears as question marks instead. In practice, the Fish Book is most helpful for players who are filling out their collection, comparing fish values, or deciding which catches are worth targeting while exploring water-rich areas.
- The Fish Book must be in the tool bar to be used.
- It only reveals information for fish the player has already caught before.
- Uncaught nearby fish remain unidentified and show question marks instead of names and prices.
- It is bought from the Museum, and unlocking it requires donating half of the bugs, fish, and critters collection.
The Fish Book is a utility item rather than a direct fishing aid, so it does not increase catch rates or change fishing mechanics. Its value lies in convenience: it helps players quickly recognize profitable fish and track progress through the fish collection.
