An advanced power node with greater range.

Overview

Large Power Node is a buildable block used to create and manage explicit power connections to other blocks within the game. It operates with a connection radius of 15 blocks; any block placed or targeted within that radius can be linked to or unlinked from the Large Power Node through the in-game connection interface. The node is primarily interacted with using the placement/selection cursor: clicking the Large Power Node enters connection-management mode, after which selecting a target block toggles that block’s connection to the node.

Connection behavior is straightforward: selecting a block that is not currently linked creates a connection to the Large Power Node; selecting a block that already has a connection to that same node removes that single connection. Clicking the Large Power Node itself while in connection-management mode clears all of its connections at once, allowing fast reconfiguration of a node’s network without individually toggling each linked block.

When placing multiple Large Power Nodes using the build planner, the planner will automatically space them and route them in a predictable way. Planned chains of Large Power Nodes are placed roughly 15 blocks apart, and the planner attempts to align them in a straight line from the start point toward the current cursor position. This behavior differs from the planner for many other block types that constrain placements to cardinal directions; Large Power Nodes favor straight-line chaining and even spacing to simplify long-distance or linear connection layouts.

Practical notes and usage considerations:

  • The 15-block radius defines which blocks are eligible for explicit linking; plan node placement so target devices fall within that circle.
  • Use the node’s connection-management mode to build or trim a tailored network of powered blocks rather than relying on implicit adjacency rules.
  • Click the node again to quickly clear all links before reassigning connections for a different layout or to remove obsolete links.
  • When creating extended runs of nodes, use the planner’s straight-line, 15-block spacing to quickly lay out an even chain between two points.
  • Because the planner for Large Power Nodes does not lock to cardinal axes, you can create diagonal or angled runs more easily than with blocks that snap to grid directions.
