Neoplasia Reactor

Uses arkycite, water and phase fabric to generate large amounts of power. Produces heat and dangerous neoplasm as a byproduct. Explodes violently if neoplasm is not removed from the reactor via conduits.
Overview
The Neoplasia Reactor is a late-game power generator that produces energy while slowly accumulating a hazardous fluid called
Operation and failure behavior are deterministic: when the Neoplasm meter fills, the explosion deals 2000 area damage in a radius of 9 tiles, and Neoplasm puddles are created out to a radius of 7 tiles from the blast center. Because the explosion spawns hazardous puddles, placement and disposal of Neoplasm are critical to safe operation.
Practical usage and handling notes:
- Neoplasm cannot be processed by Slag Incinerators. The safest disposal method is to move produced Neoplasm away from base structures and dump it onto slag tiles or into empty-space puddles. Transport lines using Reinforced Bridge Ducts (or other suitably spaced
Duct structures) allow puddles to form in safe remote locations.
- If remote dumping into space is impossible, ensure any dumped puddles are far from water-holding blocks; Neoplasm puddles will damage blocks that hold water and can spread through fluid lines if not properly isolated.
- Spacing Ducts with two- or three-tile gaps and carrying
Water through them helps prevent puddles from moving back up a fluid line, limiting spread toward critical infrastructure.
- Ducts do not have an item capacity and thus will not become directly infected by Neoplasm puddles as storage units might; however, connected blocks and fluids can still be affected by nearby puddles.
- The heat output of the Neoplasia Reactor can be routed to a
Flux Reactor to increase total power generation. One source records an additional 5760 power contribution from this heat; another source reports the reactor’s heat contributes 6360 power to a Flux Reactor, noted as 40% of that reactor’s maximum output. Both values are reported in community documentation; builders should verify which figure applies in their game version.
- The Neoplasia Reactor’s build costs were adjusted after introduction: Phase fabric cost was reduced (from 300 to 150) and
Tungsten cost was lowered (from 1000 to 750), and build time was decreased in later builds (for example from ~52.16s to ~42.66s in the referenced changes).
Because of the explosion radius and puddle spawning, the Neoplasia Reactor is best used in isolated power islands or with dedicated remote fluid routing and dumping systems. Plan for containment, remote disposal, and fail-safe routing of Neoplasm and heat to avoid catastrophic damage to the main base.
