Conveyor Shutoff

Overview

The Conveyor Shutoff is an automated conveyor building used to stop or allow items moving along a Conveyor Rail based on an automation signal. It is part of the broader conveyor system, which reduces the need for Duplicant handling and can save both time and power by automating transport.

In practice, the Conveyor Shutoff is most useful as a routing tool for sorting solid materials. When paired with a Conveyor Rail Element Sensor, it can act as a low-power solid separator by diverting only the desired material. When paired with a Conveyor Rail Thermo Sensor, it can separate low-temperature solid debris from high-temperature solid debris, a setup commonly used in volcano-related builds.

  • Use it to block or release rail cargo only when a condition is met, rather than moving every item manually.
  • Pair it with a Conveyor Rail Element Sensor to sort mixed solids efficiently.
  • Pair it with a Conveyor Rail Thermo Sensor to split hot and cold debris streams.
  • It is especially valuable in automated resource processing setups where Duplicant involvement would otherwise be frequent.
