Liquid Pipe Thermo Sensor

Overview

The Liquid Pipe Thermo Sensor is an automation building used on liquid piping to monitor the temperature of whatever is moving through the pipe. When the pipe contents reach a chosen temperature, the sensor disables connected buildings, allowing the player to stop or redirect systems based on the temperature of a liquid stream.

This makes it useful anywhere a liquid needs to be heated, cooled, or held within a narrow temperature range. By wiring it into pumps, shutoffs, or other connected machinery, it can automatically turn parts of a fluid-processing setup on or off once the target temperature is reached. In practice, it is most valuable for protecting sensitive liquids from overheating or freezing, or for keeping a temperature-controlled loop from running longer than necessary.

  • The sensor checks the temperature of the liquid currently in the pipe, not the temperature of the building itself.
  • It disables connected buildings once the pipe contents cross the configured threshold.
  • It is suited to automated cooling and heating systems where fluid temperature matters more than tank temperature.
  • Because it reacts to content in transit, it can be placed directly into a liquid line to provide immediate control over the flow system.
