Liquid Vent

Liquid Vent is a plumbing building that serves as an outlet for liquids moving through a pipe network. It is placed at the end of a liquid line and allows fluids to leave the plumbing system into the world, making it the liquid counterpart to other pipe endpoints used for gas or liquid routing.

Like other plumbing endpoints, Liquid Vent is used to finish a transport line cleanly and deliver liquid to a target area, reservoir, machine, or open space. It is especially useful when setting up controlled distribution systems, since it provides a fixed release point rather than requiring a pump or manual handling.

A few practical notes are worth keeping in mind:

• When liquid containing germs passes through the vent, some of those germs transfer onto the vent itself.
• The germs on the vent die off over time on their own.
• Because of that, it is usually better to disable disinfecting the vent, since automatically sanitizing it creates unnecessary errands for dupes.
• Despite the existence of a High Pressure Gas Vent, there is no separate Liquid Vent equivalent beyond this building.

In use, Liquid Vent is most effective when paired with a well-designed pipe network that delivers liquid only where it is needed. Since it simply releases fluid at the end of the line, it is best treated as a terminal point rather than a control device. If the output liquid may be contaminated, the vent can briefly become a germ source, but this is generally self-limiting as the germs decay naturally.
