Robo-Pilot Capsule

The Robo-Pilot Capsule is a rocket module that allows a rocket to operate without assigning a Duplicant astronaut. Instead of needing a crewed pilot, it can handle launch tasks on its own, making it useful for unattended or low-crew space programs. When used in place of a manned command module, it lets a rocket depart even if no astronaut is available to occupy the pilot role.

A rocket equipped with a Robo-Pilot Capsule can complete its launch duties as long as the rocket also has the required travel data for the outbound trip. The launch check only verifies the data disk requirement for reaching the destination; it does not check the return trip’s data disk requirement at that stage. This makes the capsule especially convenient for launches where the return plan is handled separately.

When a rocket has both a Robo-Pilot Capsule and a Spacefarer Module or Solo Spacefarer Nosecone, the Robo-Pilot Capsule can take over the launch task. After liftoff, the rocket receives the Multi-Pilot Control buff, increasing speed by 50%. This means the capsule can still contribute even on rockets that carry crewed habitation modules, as long as the launch setup includes it.
