Strange Annihilation Fuel Rod

The Strange Annihilation Fuel Rod is a hidden late-game fuel and the highest-energy fuel item in Dyson Sphere Program. It is the final secret technology to unlock, and it requires Core Elements obtained from level 24 or higher Dark Fog units. Like Antimatter Fuel Rods, it can be burned in Icarus’s fuel chamber or used in an Artificial Star.

Each rod contains 72.0 GJ of energy, or 3.60 TJ per stack, and provides +1100% Fuel chamber generation. As a personal fuel, one stack can sustain level 50 warp at 480 MW for about 2 hours. Since ordinary travel and combat consume far less power than that, a stack can last for many tens or even hundreds of hours in normal play.

For power generation, the rod doubles an Artificial Star’s maximum output to 144 MW. If Proliferator Mk.III is applied, that output is doubled again, allowing a single Artificial Star to reach 288 MW.

The recipe is extremely expensive. It consumes 8 Antimatter Fuel Rods for every output rod, which means even modest production requires a very large Dyson Sphere. The Core Element requirement is the other major bottleneck, because Core Elements are only dropped by Dark Fog units at level 24 and above. Their base drop rate is low enough that sustained production of about 30/min requires continuous fighting around roughly 2 to 3 Dark Fog Planetary Bases to keep a steady flow of materials.

Despite its power, the Strange Annihilation Fuel Rod is more of a prestige end product than an ordinary consumable. Dark Fog farming can provide not only Core Elements, but also Antimatter Fuel Rods, Strange Matter, and Frame Material components, which makes a self-sustaining production loop possible. A simple setup of two assemblers, one making Frame Material and the other making Annihilation Rods, can produce them slowly but reliably without any other inputs once the necessary supply chain is established.
