Cattail (Crop)

Cattail (Crop) is a wild edible plant in Timberborn that provides year-round harvestable material. The plant yields edible parts in every season, making it one of the most versatile food sources available to beaver settlements. Cattail produces pollen that is used outside of direct food roles, and its fluffy seeds function as natural fire-starters.

Cattail was present at the game's Early Access launch and was originally usable by both factions. In Update 4 the crop’s faction access was changed so that it is now available only to the Folktail faction. The crop is known in Chinese as 猫尾草.

• Cattail supplies edible harvests in all seasons, ensuring a continuous food resource when other crops are seasonal.
• The pollen from cattail has an industrial or craft use in fireworks.
• The plant’s fluffy seeds serve as effective fire-starting material.
• Originally usable by both factions at launch, cattail became restricted to the Folktail faction in Update 4.

Practical play notes: harvest cattail regularly to exploit its year-round availability and to collect seeds for fire-starting and pollen for non-food uses. Because faction access changed in a later update, check faction-specific crop lists in your current game version to confirm which factions can plant or process cattail.
