Potato fields must be placed on green land adjacent to water or within reach of an Irrigation Tower and the necessary waterworks; fields left without proper irrigation or exposed to flooding will stop growing and the seedlings will die. Players should not remove planned carrot plots to make way for potato fields without consideration, because different foods stack their happiness contribution and beavers will seek a variety of foods each day to maintain high happiness.
