Plains
Overview
Plains is a map entry in Timberborn represented by artwork and overhead imagery used by community and wiki pages. The available gallery assets include a recommended 256×256 icon and a 256×256 overhead view that serve as the primary visual references for the Plains map. The Plains page history in the community wiki notes that the map was introduced during the Early Access launch and has received subsequent updates, including a Version 1 update and an Update 5 change that added an element labeled
Badwater.
The Plains site contains ruins whose individual structures have fixed heights; each ruin piece on the map is defined with its own set height rather than variable or procedurally scaled heights. This fixed-height approach affects line-of-sight and placement relationships between ruins and other map objects when building or planning around them.
- Gallery assets: two recommended 256×256 images (standard icon and overhead view) are provided for use as the Plains map thumbnail and map overview.
- Map history: introduced in Early Access; later adjusted in Version 1 and Update 5 (Update 5 added an item called Badwater).
- Ruins mechanics: ruins on Plains are composed of discrete structures, each with a set, unchanging height that influences placement and visibility on the map.
Practical notes for use on wiki pages and community resources include using the provided 256×256 images for consistent thumbnails and map previews, and accounting for the fixed-height ruins when documenting or planning colony layouts that interact with those ruins.
