Overview

Dam is a building in Timberborn categorized under Dams and Landscaping. The term is localized in Chinese as 水坝. The Dam building was introduced in the game's Closed Beta and received a notable change in Update 6: it can now be built anywhere and is no longer ground-only.

Dams consume more Logs during construction than Levees. Because of their higher Log cost, players are advised in strategy guidance to prefer Levees and Floodgate over Dams when playing on Hard difficulty in order to conserve Logs. The game groups Dams with other landscaping structures and treats them as distinct from storage or warehouse buildings.

  • The Dam entry is listed under the Dams category and also appears in Landscaping groupings in the game's documentation.
  • Historical changes: introduced in Closed Beta; Update 6 removed the ground-only restriction so Dams can be placed anywhere.
  • Strategic note: Dams require more Logs to build than Levees; avoid Dams in Hard mode and use Levees and Floodgates to save Logs.
