Overview

Banners are a decoration building in Timberborn used to display custom images as decorative banners in a colony. The feature supports importing player artwork and selecting from available banner images to change a colony’s visual style. Banners belong to the Decorations category and were introduced in the game’s initial release (Version 1).

Banners accept square image files for use as the displayed artwork. Ideal images are 1024×1024 PNG files, but any square image in a common format also works. To add new images, open the banner selection interface, choose a banner slot, and use the Browse control to open the local folder where banner images are stored. Copy your image files into that folder, then use the Refresh control in the banner UI to load the new images into the in-game list and apply them to a banner.

  • Banners are listed under the Decorations category in the build menu.
  • Recommended image format and size: 1024×1024 PNG for best results, though other square image formats are supported.
  • Workflow for adding custom banners: select a banner in the UI → Browse to open the local banners folder → copy image files into that folder → use Refresh to populate the in-game selection.
  • The banner selection UI displays imported images for assignment to built banner objects.

Practical notes: prepare square images to avoid distortion, keep a backup of original files before editing, and use the Refresh button in the game after adding files so new images appear in the selection list.
