Overview

Aquifer Drills are water-category buildings placed directly on Aquifers to tap underground fluid reserves. They function as extraction structures that supply fluids by releasing flow from their base during Temperate seasons. Aquifer Drills were part of the game from Version 1.

Aquifer Drills provide a significant steady output of mechanical power while extracting fluids. A standard Aquifer Drill supplies 400 of power, the same amount produced by a Geothermal Engine. The Ancient Aquifer Drill is a lower-power variant that requires only 200 hp. Fluids produced by Aquifer Drills emerge at the drill base and are available for collection or further transport during Temperate seasons; outside those seasons the direct surface flow is not indicated by the available sources.

  • Place Aquifer Drills directly on Aquifers to operate; they are water buildings and must sit over the aquifer tile.
  • Standard Aquifer Drills provide 400 of power, matching a Geothermal Engine’s output.
  • Ancient Aquifer Drills require 200 hp.
  • Fluids flow from the drill’s base during Temperate seasons, allowing immediate access for ponds, reservoirs, or fluid transport systems.
  • Introduced in Version 1 and categorized under Water buildings.

For placement and integration, ensure the drill’s base is accessible for collecting emerging fluids and for connecting to fluid channels or storage. Consider matching the drill’s power output to your mechanical power network requirements when planning energy sources and backups.
