Overview

Charging Station is a building in Timberborn. It is a placed structure whose construction requires processed mechanical and metal parts. The building entry was introduced in Update 2; its construction cost was changed during Version 1 from 5 Plank + 15 Gear + 5 Metal Block to 5 Plank + 15 Gear + 10 Metal Part.

Because the Charging Station consumes Planks, Gears, and Metal part as its build cost, constructing one draws on the same resource chains used elsewhere in mid‑ and late‑game production. Planks are produced from Logs at the Lumber Mill (1 Log → 1 Plank) and feed many crafting lines. Gears are produced from Planks at the Gear Workshop (1 Plank → 1 Gear), and Gear production directly competes with other uses of Planks and Gears. Metal Parts/Metal block are produced through Smelters that process Scrap Metal (Smelter recipe: 2 Scrap Metal + 1 Log → 1 Metal Block) and represent a scarce industrial input that is often reserved for advanced buildings and bot production.

  • Current construction cost: 5 Plank, 15 Gear, 10 Metal Part (post-change).
  • Previous construction cost (Version 1): 5 Plank, 15 Gear, 5 Metal Block.
  • Building the Charging Station requires committing resources that are central to several key production chains (Lumber Mill → Planks; Gear Workshop → Gears; Smelter → Metal Blocks/Metal Parts).
