Overview

The Scavenger Flag is a Metal building used by the Iron Teeth to support scavenging operations in ruined areas. It is placed on the map like other flags and projects a fixed working area centered on the flag itself. On completely flat ground with no obstructions, its range is 40x41 tiles, and the flag occupies the center tile of that area. The selection outline shows this range when the building is being placed or selected.

The flag requires no materials to construct, but it cannot operate while flooded. Its range must overlap at least some Ruins to be useful. Scavengers do not need Paths to reach Ruins, because they work directly at ground level and reduce the height of each ruin column until it is exhausted.

A few practical notes are important when using it:

  • If the scavenger’s inventory fills up, the worker will try to transport Scrap Metal to valid Storage.
  • This hauling step reduces the flag’s overall efficiency, so nearby storage and sufficient haulers improve throughput.
  • With enough hauling support and storage capacity, scavengers can work continuously as long as they are not interrupted by Needs.
  • If they cannot empty their inventory, scavengers will stand idle at the entrance of the flag.
  • Once every Ruin in range has been exhausted, the flag becomes idle and shows Nothing to do in range.

The Scavenger Flag was previously a version-1 free unlock for the Iron Teeth. It is part of the Metal category.
